Hartpury College 3G Rugby Pitches
Hartpury College employed Blakedown Sport and Play to resurface an existing sand-filled surface with an Edel Nature LSR 65mm 3rd generation rubber crumb surface meeting the requirements of the International Rugby Board (IRB) Performance Specification.

Hartpury College’s Sports Facility Manager, Chris Crichton says, “It’s a fantastic playing surface allowing full contact training without the worry of burns or unplayable pitches. The surface gives a consistent bounce and is playable throughout the year. A great training addition, raising the standards across our Sports Academy”.

The existing surface was an old grass golf range.
The new facility comprises of a new 3G rugby Edel Touchdown 65mm carpet with 20mm in-situ rubber shockpad installed on a 50mm engineered macadam base. Fencing & floodlights completed the £500,000 project and again the surface meets IRB reg 22 specification.
